this n' that about politics

While pondering my reasons for being interested in politics and particularly why I'm a conservative, I had to ask myself how much of a conservative am I really?  I believe in working for what I have, saving for what I want or need, being honest in my dealings with others, working hard. saving where possible, investing, earning my way, following the law (even though sometimes I'd rather drive a little faster or slap someone around a little when they act or say stupid things, or when I see someone ripping off the system, because I know I'm going to have to help pay that individuals larceny. I believe in freedom of religion and worshiping my Creator and His Son. I believe in freedom, and know we only have freedom through an unbelievable high price. I think of the high price Jesus Christ paid through the atonement, and I think of how through His resurrection I too can have eternal life and be with Him and the Father for eternity. I am grateful I have the opportunity to try to be perfect by living as He did, and I am grateful I have the opportunity to be with my wife and family through eternity. I believe families can be together forever. Therefore, I also believe that through the grace of God, we have been given this wonderful country in which we live, and that if we live by the precepts and commandments of God, we will be able to enjoy this freedom for a very long time. I also believe if we flaunt God's commandments and live only by the dictates of man, we can and will probably lose our freedom, for I do believe God will not be mocked and what we are doing through our liberal society is absolutely contrary to God's law. Tonight is just the beginning of these thoughts and tomorrow I will continue with other thoughts. Perhaps as this work progresses I will be able to make sense of the politics and other concerns of this country .
